Hello Buddy,

I’m not even going to lie, work ~~can be~~ is tiring!

Sometimes, I think about trust-fund babies and wonder why fate didn’t trust me enough to fund me. Other days, I want to quit and run away, but running away is costly, so here I am, still working.

When Rihanna was singing about work, I was busy dancing, now look at me.

No, look at you!

I was going through this article during the Sallah holidays and realized it’s a global problem - everyone is lowkey tired!

And if you’re like most people, your first thought is to quit and find something more "motivating," but then salary arrives, and suddenly, you're in love again.

The typical ‘your boss is paying you to forget your dreams’ scenario. 😅

But have you considered that maybe, just maybe, your job isn’t the problem?

Hear me out.

One thing I’m learning is that even with the best jobs, you'll still feel highly demotivated on some days.

Spending 8 hours every day saying "Can you see my screen?" and drowning in emails hoping to find you well is bound to wear anyone down eventually.

SO, WHAT DO YOU DO?

Accept it. The first step to managing work demotivation is accepting that work will get you down more often than you'd like.
Take breaks. A wise man once said.. ‘‘Even Superman dey sleep for night, na why batman dey do night shift.’’ 😂
Yes, I know you’re a workaholic and you have KPIs to hit, but your tired self won’t get much work done.
Make it a goal to detach from work sometimes so you can return refreshed. That’s why you have a PTO. USE IT WITH YOUR FULL CHEST!
Make your work feel less "work-y". The work is not going anywhere, afturall. So how can you infuse fun into what you do? Actually take a moment to think about it! You’ll most likely find the answer staring you in the face.
Eat good food. And I’m not even joking o! I know how many times I have contemplated quitting. But nothing hot amala and abula with goat meat can not solve. What food does it for you?
Run. If you work in a place that thrives on constantly sucking you dry, then maybe start dusting your résumé.

See, bottom line?

Work will always have bumps, but accepting the not-so-perfect will keep you sane.
